Establishing a comprehensive system for developing tourism industry in Ivano-Frankivsk Region

Project goal:
Raising the region’s competitiveness through implementation of an efficient regional system for supporting tourism development in Ivano-Frankivsk region’s rural communities.
Project objectives:
- Introducing innovative approaches to tourism management in the region;
- Developing a competitive tourist product in rural communities;
- Establishing an institutional network for supporting tourism development in rural communities
- Improving information coverage for the tourism industry development.
Project outcomes:
- Marketing strategy for the tourism in the region;
- Analytical report based on the survey results that studied problems and outlooks of tourism development in the region;
- Report based on the strategic analysis and marketing audit of tourism in the region;
- A system and procedures for categorizing individual accommodation facilities;
- A system and procedures for marking cultural, historical, architectural, and natural landmarks;
- A tourist information centre in the region;
- Developing and publishing informational and promotional materials about the region;
- Disseminating the project experience in Ukraine.
The project helped to strengthen the institutional capacity of NGOs and to boost the cooperation between various parts of the community aiming at strengthening the civil society.
