The first expert group meeting of the project “Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route”
On February 20, 2025, an expert group meeting was held in Ivano-Frankivsk under the project “Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route”, which is implemented by the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) in the partnership with the NGO “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)” and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (Ukraine) in the framework of the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme.
During the meeting, Mariya Kovaliv – Vice-chairman of the NGO “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)”, Project Manager, familiarized participants with the project “Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route”, as well as with Provisions and Regulations of the expert group, noted its importance for the project realisation.
Members of the expert group approved its composition, Provisions and Regulations, confirmed the implementation of the project measures, namely the creation of the Carpathian Cultural Route as an integrated tourist product of cultural heritage, and the development of the concept of the Carpathian Cultural Route; conducting an analytical research to study the state and prospects of the Carpathian Cultural Route; conducting a sociological survey on the inclusion of historical and cultural heritage sites in the Carpathian Cultural Route; creation of a database of objects of the Carpathian Cultural Route.

Members of the expert group expressed their propositions concerning the researches, discussed the importance of the project’s expert group activity as a deliberative and consultative body and the implementation of the project measures.

Overall objective of the Project is to improve the visibility of the existing Carpathian Cultural Route as an instrument aimed to support the valorisation of the cultural and historical heritage in the Carpathian Euroregion. Specific objectives are: to enlarge the integrated cultural heritage product “Carpathian Cultural Route” that connect places of historical and cultural heritage with other attractions and services; to improve the skills and knowledge of cultural tourism representatives through the training and sharing experience program; to improve the visibility of the integrated cultural heritage product “Carpathian Cultural Route” at the regional and international level through the development of digital promotional materials, joint online information sources and mobile application.
