The Opening conference of the project "Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route".

On February 7, 2025, the Opening Conference was held in the framework of a project "Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route", whichis implemented by the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized enterprises Maramures (Romania) in the partnership with the NGO "Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)" and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gaz in the framework of the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hunhary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme 2021-2027 (htps://next.huskroua-cbc.eu).

The aim of the conference was to present the experience of the NGO "Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)" and presentation of the project "Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route".

The Opening conference was attended by more than 40 representatives of historical and cultural objects, tourism companies and tourism-related service providers, the goverment and local self-government institutions, scientist, public orhanisations of Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia Region (Ukraine).

The conference presented information about the project and the activities of the  NGO "Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)". The programme of the conference envisages discussion of the main directions of project realization, which will promote the development of an open dialogue among the conference participants, as well as intersectoral cooperation in the project implementation.

Mariya Kovaliv – Vice-Chairman of the NGO "Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)", made an introductory speech to the conference participants. She noted that the conference is a great opportunity to share and exchange practical and scientific experience, new achievements in the field of culture and tourism. to establish sustainable cooperation for quality management of cultural heritage and its use for the benefit of communities, to promote the creation and development of the Carpathian Cultural Route.

Halyna Makota – Deputy Director of the Department - Head of the Department of European Integration of Communities and Tourism of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of Communities of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, noted the importance of implementing projects in the field of cultural heritage, and expressed her sincere gratitude to the Romanian partners for support provided to Ukraine both in the implementation of joint projects and during the war.

Expert of the Ivano-Frankivsk Branch Office of the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg NEXT Hunhary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme Oksana Shyychuk - introduced the new projects launched this year under the Programme. In her welcoming speech, she noted the success of the Carpathian Cultural Route project, which was a logical continuation of the new project, which was highly appreciated by the Programme Monitoring Committee. Oksana Shyychuk wished the project beneficiaries and participants of the Carpathian Cultural Route neiwork successful development.

Mariya Kovaliv – Vice-Chairman of the NGO "Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)", Project Manager, familiarized participants of the conference with the experience of AEDIF activities, with the integrated cultural heritage tourism product "Carpathian Cultural Route", outlined the main tasks and aims of the project.

Volodymyr Burdeniuk – Project Coordinator of the NGO "Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)", outlined the cross-border Carpathian Cultural Route. 

Liudmyla Arkhypova – Professor of the Department of Ecology of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gaz, Project Manager, introduced the participants to the organisation of work on conducting a sociological survey, creating a mobile application and promoting the Carpathian Cultural Route brand. 

The conference participants discussed the importance of implementing the project in the target region and expressed their readiness to further develop the Carpathian Cultural Route.

Overall objective of the Project is to improve the visibility of the existing  Carpathian Cultural Route as an instrument aimed to support the valorisation of the cultural and historical heritage in the Carpathian Euroregion. Specific objectives are: to enlarge the integrated cultural heritage product “Carpathian Cultural Route” that connect places of historical and cultural heritage with other attractions and services; to improve the skills and knowledge of cultural tourism representatives through the training and sharing experience program; to improve the visibility of the integrated cultural heritage product “Carpathian Cultural Route” at the regional and international level through the development of digital promotional materials, joint online information sources and mobile application.
