Mariya Kovaliv, Deputy Chair of the AEDIF Board, took part in the 8th Lviv International Economic Forum “European Partnership: Open Opportunities”. Mariya Kovaliv was a guest speaker at the session “Tourism, historical and cultural heritage, marketing of the regions. Positioning the regions and cities – how to create effective reality through proper management?” Mariya Kovaliv presented the best innovative practices of the AEDIF in Ukraine and its experience in developing programs and projects for local and regional development, the marketing of regions, and the region’s promotion to the Ukrainian and European markets.
The forum participants were especially interested in the experience of elaborating and implementing the Strategy for Developing and Marketing Tourism in Ivano-Frankivsk until 2015, and the AEDIF involvement in developing the Strategy for the Development of the Pan-European transport Corridor III.
Session participants, representing Ukraine, Austria, Latvia, Belgium, the USA, exchanged their proposals and recommendations on facilitating the European integration processes in Ukraine, the opportunities for regional and cross-border cooperation, developing and implementing infrastructure and investment projects.

Over its eight-year history the Forum has gained a national value and became an important economic event for Central and Eastern Europe. 8th Lviv International Economic Forum “European Partnership: Open Opportunities” is held by Lviv Regional State Administration in partnership with Lviv Municipal and Regional Councils. This year’s Forum focuses on sustainable development of the regions and the sharing of relevant European experience.
