The fourth Steering Committee meeting of the project “Valorisation of the historical and cultural heritage through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route”.

On October 18, 2023, the fourth Steering Committee meeting of the project "Valorisation of the historical and cultural heritage through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route" implemented by the public organisation “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)” in partnership with Development Center for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas in the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Program 2014 -2020. The project is co-financed by the European Union.

The Project Steering Committee meetingwas attended by representatives of partner organizations involved in the implementation of the project. Viktor Rudnytskyy – Chairman of the public organisation “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)”, Chairman of the Project Steering Committee chaired in the Steering Committee meeting.

The fourth Project Steering Committee meeting considered the implementation of the project "Valorisation of the historical and cultural heritage through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route" in the second year of the project.

Mariya Kovaliv – Vice-chairman of the public organisation “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)”, Project Manager, reported on the implementation of the Carpathian Cultural Route project in the second year of the project, outlined the main activities and results of the project implementation from the Ukrainian and Romanian sides, namely: 

• the Project Steering Committee was established; 4 meetings were held;
• 4 meetings of project partners were organised and held;
• 2 conferences were organised and held (85 participants);
• 2 groups of experts were created; 8 meetings were held;
• 2 round tables were organised and held (66 participants);
• the analytical research was conducted;
• the sociological survey was conducted;
• the database was created;
• the Concept of the Carpathian Cultural Route was developed;
• the Brand and Marketing Strategy of the Carpathian Cultural Route were developed;
• the cross-border cultural tourist route "Carpathian Cultural Route" was created, which united 40 cultural and historical sites of Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia Regions and Maramures County;
• the integrated tourist product of cultural heritage "Carpathian Cultural Route" was created;
• the Carpathian Cultural Route was equipped with 20 digital tourist information points and 56 tourist information stands;
• the Carpathian Cultural Route network was created (51 members);
• 4 training modules were developed, 1 seminar (88 participants) and 1 study tour (18 participants) were organised and conducted;
• trilingual catalogue developed and published;
• trilingual brochure was developed and published;
• trilingual map developed and published;
• Ukrainian-Romanian website https://carpathianculturalroute.com/ was created;
• mobile application was developed.

Radu Big – Executive Director of the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania), Project Coordinator briefed the participants on the implementation of the project in Maramures County, the production and equipment of the Carpathian Cultural Route with digital tourist information points and information boards. 

Liudmyla Arkhypova – Professor of the Ecology Department, Professor of the Tourism, Recreation and Regional Development Department, Project Coordinator, reported on the labelling of the Carpathian Cultural Route and the creation of a mobile application.

The members of the Project Steering Committee expressed their proposals and recommendations regarding for further cooperation, discussed the importance of the activity of the Project Steering Committee as a public body created within the framework of the project.

Project “Valorisation of the historical and cultural heritage through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route” is implemented in the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020 financed by the European Union https://huskroua-cbc.eu/. Overall objective of the Project is support to valorisation of the cultural and historical heritage in the Carpathian Euroregion through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route as integrated cultural heritage tourism product within the cross-border regions of Romania and Ukraine. Specific objectives are: to create an integrated cultural heritage tourism product “Carpathian Cultural Route” that connect places of historical and cultural heritage with other attractions and services; to improve the skills and knowledge of cultural tourism representatives through the training programme; to promote an integrated cultural heritage tourism product “Carpathian Cultural Route” in the regional and international markets through the development of promotional materials, joint online information sources and mobile application.
