Fourth Steering Committee meeting of the project “Promotion of investment opportunities and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises through development of cross-border ties in the Carpathian region”
The fourth Steering Committee meeting was held in Ivano-Frankivsk, on October 29, 2015, in the framework of the project “Promotion of investment opportunities and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises through development of cross-border ties in the Carpathian region”, the aim of which is the strengthening of social and economic development in the Carpathian Region by fostering cooperation among small and medium sized enterprises in order to solve investment problems in the region, as well as the creation of a favourable investment climate in Ukraine-Romania cross-border region, improvement of its image through cross-border cooperation.
The project is implemented by the Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk and Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) in partnership with the Department for International Cooperation, European Integration and Tourist Infrastructure of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration in the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.
The Steering Committee meeting was attended by the representatives of partner organizations, involved in the project implementation process.
During the meeting Mariya Kovaliv – Vice Chairman of the Board of the Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk, Project Manager, made a report on the results of project implementation in the 3rd and the 4th semesters. During the meeting the participants discussed such issues as the formation of the database, organisation of International Investment Forum, preparation of promotional materials, namely the trilingual guide of best practices of investment attraction, trilingual promotional brochure about the investment attractiveness of the region, trilingual map of investment potential of the Carpathian Region, trilingual catalogue of investment proposals in the region, bilingual investor’s guide.
The discussion was supported by Radu Big – Executive Manager of Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania), Zinoviy Mazur – Head of the Department for Interregional Cooperation, Investment and External Economic Activity of the Division for International Cooperation and Interregional Integration of the Office for International Cooperation, European Integration and Tourist Infrastructure Development of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, Margareta Capilnean – Project Coordinator of Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania), Mirel Mihali – Deputy Executive Manager of Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania).
Members of the project Steering Committee expressed their suggestions and recommendations concerning further cooperation, discussed the importance of the project Steering Committee activity as a public body set up in the framework of the project.
