Final Conference of the project “Promotion of investment opportunities and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises through development of cross-border ties in the Carpathian region”
Final Conference of the project “Promotion of investment opportunities and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises through development of cross-border ties in the Carpathian region” was held on September 23-24, 2015, in Ivano-Frankivsk.
The project “Promotion of investment opportunities and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises through development of cross-border ties in the Carpathian region” is realized from January 1, 2014 to October 30, 2015 by the Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk in partnership with the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) and Department for International Cooperation, European Integration and Tourist Infrastructure Development of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration in the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.
The aim of the conference was to summarize the results of implementation of the project “Promotion of investment opportunities and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises through development of cross-border ties in the Carpathian region”.
The participants of the conference were partners of the project, representatives of local government and self government institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, funds for entrepreneurship support and business-centres of Ivano-Frankivsk Region and Maramures County (Romania).
The main aim of the project was strengthening social and economic development in the Carpathian Region by fostering cooperation among the small and medium sized enterprises to solve investment problems in the region, create a favourable investment climate in Ukrainian-Romanian cross-border region, improving its image through cross-border cooperation.
During the conference Maria Kovaliv – Vice-chairman of the Board of the Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk, project manager, presented participants the results of the project among which is the assessment of investment potential of small and medium sized enterprises in the Carpathian Region by means of carrying out analytical and sociological research for effective cross-border investment and creation of favourable investment climate in the Carpathian Region; raising the level of knowledge and professional skills of local government officials, representatives of small and medium sized enterprises by conducting training programmes; building joint information space and a more positive image of the Carpathian Euroregion in the regional and international markets; improving competitiveness, investment and innovation activity of the Carpathian Region through organizing and conducting International Investment Forum.
During the conference Radu Big ‒ Executive Manager of Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures and Margareta Capilnean – Project Coordinator of Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures shared their experience in the project implementation.
Participants of the conference discussed the importance of project implementation in the target region and noted that project results gave new opportunities for the establishment and development of cooperation between small and medium sized enterprises from Ivano-Frankivsk Region and Maramures County, expressed their willingness for further cooperation.
