Training on Financial Facilities for SMEs held in Kiev
Representatives of 31 Business Support Organizations (BSOs) from Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine participated in the third and last training seminar that took place in Kiev on May 24-25.
The training was organised with the contribution of the following FIT4SMEs partners: the Association of Economic Development of Ivano – Frankivsk and the National Association of Development Agencies NARDA.
The first day was opened by H.E Mr. Mykola Melenevsky, Deputy Ukraine Central European Initiative National Coordinator, Mr. Yuri Tretiak, Executive Director of NARDA, Genadiy Rusanov project Manager of the Association of Economic Development of Ivano Frankivsk , Mr. Andrea Domeniconi from the Embassy of Italy in Ukraine and Ms. Daniela Biadene Junior Executive Officer, Office for the Central European Initiative Fund at the EBRD.
The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade presented to the trainees the Italian Government TPO experience with IFI, BSO and SMEs. The BSO participants had the opportunity to gain know-how about the instruments of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for supporting SMEs, such as the Business Advisory Services and the Enterprise Growth Program. The IPC - International Projekt Consult GmbH presented the Ukraine Micro Lending Programme (UMLP), whereas a representative of BC ProCredit Bank SA Moldova described how this Bank manages the funds allocated by the international financial institutions. The second day was focused on on practical issues such as strategies for selecting and assisting qualified SMEs and applying for a financial support.
Two training events were already held in Tirana (March 15-16) and Belgrade (April 3-4). Thanks to the project FIT4SMEs, more than 90 BSOs from non-EU CEI countries had the chance to enhance their knowledge about the financial facilities of IFIs operating in non-EU member states of the Central European Initiative.
