Round table of the project “Valorisation of the historical and cultural heritage through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route”
On September 15, 2022 the round table was held in the framework of a project “Valorisation of the historical and cultural heritage through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route”, which is implemented by the NGO “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)” in the partnership with Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (Ukraine) in the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020.
The aim of the of the round table was to present the Carpathian Cultural Route.
The round table was attended by more than 30 representatives of historical and cultural objects, tourism companies and tourism-related service providers, the government and local self-government institutions, scientists, public organizations of Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia Regions of Ukraine.
The project “Valorisation of the historical and cultural heritage through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route”, the Concept of the Carpathian Cultural Route, the brand and marketing strategy, information about digital tourist information points and information stands for arranging the Carpathian Cultural Route, were presented during the round table.
During the round table, the participants of the round table discussed the Carpathian Cultural Route created, which will contribute to the establishment of an open dialogue, intersectoral partnership of the Carpathian Cultural Route Network.
Mariya Kovaliv – Vice-chairman of the NGO “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)”, project manager, made an introductory speech to the conference participants. She noted that the conference is a great opportunity to share and exchange practical and scientific experience, new achievements in the field of culture and tourism, to establish sustainable cooperation for quality management of cultural heritage and its use for the benefit of communities, to promote the creation and development of the Carpathian Сultural Route.
Radu Big – the Executive Director of the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) addressed the participants of the round table with a speech, in which he emphasized the importance and innovation of the project for Ukraine and Romania.
Oleg Mandryk – First Vice-Rector of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, communication project manager, noted the importance of the international project for the university, stressed the university's significant experience of cooperation with foreign partners, expanding the scope of international technical assistance projects. including tourism, the successful implementation of the university project of cross-border cooperation to promote cultural and historical heritage.
Vitaliy Perederko – Head of the Tourism Department of the Department of International Cooperation, European Integration, Tourism and Investments of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, noted the important role of cultural tourism in the development of the local economy as a tool for the formation of national identity, preservation of cultural heritage, establishment of intercultural dialogue. After all, capitalization of culture through tourism is one of the factors of socio-economic development of territories. The project includes 40 of the most significant and interesting objects of the cultural heritage of the region. It will support the development of cultural tourism, local culture and heritage preservation in the Carpathians.
Mariya Kovaliv – Vice-chairman of the NGO “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)”, project manager, familiarized participants of the conference with the project “Valorisation of the historical and cultural heritage through the development and promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route”, outlined the main tasks and activities of the project, presented the Concept of the Carpathian Cultural Route and the integrated cultural heritage tourism product "Carpathian Cultural Route". Volodymyr Burdenyuk – project coordinator of the NGO "Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk region (AERIF)" introduced the participants to the tour and objects included in the Carpathian Cultural Route. Liudmyla Arkhypova –Head of the Tourism Department of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, project coordinator, introduced the round table participants to the brand and marketing strategy. Radu Big – the Executive Director of the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures, project coordinator (Romania) informed the participants of the round table with information about digital tourist information panels and information stands for arranging the Carpathian Cultural Route. The participants of the round table discussed the importance of creating and developing the Carpathian Cultural Route, received comprehensive answers to their questions, and expressed their willingness to participate in the project's activities.

Specific objectives are: to create an integrated cultural heritage tourism product “Carpathian Cultural Route” that connect places of historical and cultural heritage with other attractions and services; to improve the skills and knowledge of cultural tourism representatives through the training programme; to promote an integrated cultural heritage tourism product “Carpathian Cultural Route” in the regional and international markets through the development of promotional materials, joint online information sources and mobile application.
