Opening Conference “Harmonization of Tourism Development in Rural Areas of the Carpathian Region”
The Opening Conference was taken place on the 1 March, 2011 in Ivano-Frankivsk in the framework of the project “Harmonization of Tourism Development in Rural Areas of the Carpathian Region”, which is realized by the Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk in the partnership with the Main Department for Tourism, European Integration, External Relations and Investments of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration of Ukraine and Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) with the support of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 and with participation of the representatives of the local government, tourism business, tourism informational centres and NGO of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region.
The goal of the Conference was official opening of the project “Harmonization of Tourism Development in Rural Areas of the Carpathian Region”. At the conference it was introduced the information about the project, tourist potential of Ivano-Frankivsk region, about the project partners - Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) and Carpathian Foundation – Ukraine, about rural tourism as a priority for direction development of the Carpathian Euroregion. Agenda of the conference includes discussion by the participants the main direction of the project realization, that will be support to the open dialogue between the participants of the conference, cross-border partnership in the realization of the project.
Head of the Main Department for Tourism, European Integration, External Relations and Investments of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Semkiv introduced the projects, which are realized with the support of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 and noted the importance of the realization of the project in the tourism sphere, Mariya Kovaliv - Vice-chairman of the Board of the Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk introduced the project “Harmonization of Tourism Development in Rural Areas of the Carpathian Region”, desribed the main tasks and activities of the project. Nataliya Gasyuk - Deputy head of the Main Department for Tourism, European Integration, External Relations and Investments of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration introduced the tourist potential of Ivano-Frankivsk region, Radu BIG - Executive manager of the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures, Project coordinator (Romania) made the presentation about Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures. Tetyana Pashchenko - program coordinator of the Carpathian Foundation – Ukraine made the presentation about Carpathian Foundation – Ukraine and its role in the organisation and developing of the cross-border partners networks, Pavlo Horishevskiy – Chairman of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Organisation of Union for Green Rural Tourism Development Promotion in Ukraine introduced the Rural Tourism as a priority for direction development of the Carpathian Euroregion.
The participants of the conference discussed the importance of the realization of the project in the Rural areas of the Carpathian Euroregion, received full answers to their questions, expressed their willingness to participate in project activities.
