Cultural and Educational Tourism in Ivano-Frankivsk
An American Peace Corps volunteer, together with the Association for Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk, initiated a new cultural project that was launched in the second part of June in Ivano-Frankivsk. The project partners include the Regional Tourist and Information Centre and Ivano-Frankivsk Art Gallery.
The project goal is to build cooperation and develop a partnership network between Ivano-Frankivsk museums, travel agencies, and tourist and information centres in order to establish a favourable environment for sustainable development of cultural and educational tourism in the city.
The project plans to analyze the activities of the local museums with the goal to improve their performance and raise their awareness about possible cooperation opportunities. Apart from museum-specific problems, the project will also focus on advertizing and promotion, helping the museums attract more visitors and promote museums in Ivano-Frankivsk.
The project products will include a catalogue of Ivano-Frankivsk museums and a tourist map of the downtown area.
