International Investment Forum "Investments in the Carpathian Region"

 

International Investment Forum "Investments in the Carpathian Region" was held on June 23-25, 2015, in Ivano-Frankivsk with more than 80 representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, local government and self-government bodies, business associations, entrepreneurship support funds, business centers and higher educational institutions.

The forum was held in the framework of the project «Promotion of investment opportunities and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises through development of cross-border ties in the Carpathian region», which is implemented by the Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk in partnership with Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) and the Department for International Cooperation, European Integration and Tourist Infrastructure Development of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration in the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.

The main aim of the forum was to present investment potential and investment projects (proposals) of small and medium-sized enterprises of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and Maramures County (Romania), search for new investors and attract investments, as well as establish new business contacts between the participants.

Among the numerous investment initiatives, participants presented the following ones:

• Investment potential of Ivano-Frankivsk Region (Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Centre for Investment and Development);
• Investment major projects financed by EU funds and the investment potential of Maramures County (Maramures County Council);
• Industrial park "Dolyna" (Dolyna-invest CE);
• New technologies for multimedia applications and digital projects of Aldmagic Film LLC;
• The perspectives of establishing plantations of American bilberry and other productive berry crops under the conditions of the Carpathian Region (Dolyna – Ahro LLC);
• The use of full cycle of wood processing as a constituent part of high competitiveness of the enterprise production (Syvulia PE);
• The development projects of Holisun LLC (Holisun LLC);
• The project "Euroceramic – production of ceramic hollow bricks and blocks" (Mykhailo Petruniak);
• Extending of the production capacity for electrical energy equipment (Electro Sistem LLC);
• The perspective of development of goat breeding stock and industrial production of goat milk and its processed products on the territory of Prykarpattia (Eko-Karpaty FE);
• Investment development of Flexibil LLC – Achievements and perspective (Flexibil LLC);
• The production of dried fruit for food business (Pokuttia-frukt LLC);
• The project "Tourist recreation complex "Kniazhyi Dvir" and "Kniazhyi Khutir" (Kristof PE);
• The perspective projects of tourism development on the territory of the Chyvchyny and Hryniavy Mountains (Verkhovynskyi NNP);
• The creation of informational tourist centre "Dnistrovskyi Canyon" on the basis of out-of-town institution for rehabilitation and recreation "Perlyna Prydnistrovia" (Perlyna Prydnistrovia OIRR).

In the framework of International Investment Forum the participants worked in such sections as "Industry and energy saving", "Agro-industrial complex", "Tourism" and got familiarized with the activity of best enterprises in the region, namely Electrolux Ukraine LLC and Karpaty PE.

Forum participants discussed the importance of holding such a measure in the target region.

The forum became a great opportunity for the enterprises’ representatives to demonstrate their potential, offer their projects and ideas, establish direct business contacts and share experiences, draw attention of potential investors to the investment attractiveness of the region and its usage with consideration of competitive advantages as compared to other territories.
